The SilverExtensions privacy policy

TL;DR

Every SilverExtensions product processes your data locally in your browser. We do not upload your files, track your browsing, or collect analytics on content. The only information we store is billing data for Pro subscribers, handled through Stripe.

1. What we collect

For free users: nothing. Free features operate entirely in your browser with no network requests back to us.

For Pro users: your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and a usage counter (e.g. "how many signatures this month"). We do not store your name, email (beyond what Stripe collects for billing), or any document content.

2. What we don't collect

  • PDFs, signatures, or any file contents
  • Browsing history or page views
  • Clipboard contents
  • Cookies or analytics on content
  • IP addresses beyond standard HTTP access logs (retained 7 days)

3. Third-party services

Stripe handles payment processing. When you upgrade to Pro, you're redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout, and Stripe stores your payment information according to their own privacy policy. We receive only the subscription status, not card details.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other tracking tools.

4. Local storage

Each extension uses chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync to store:

  • User preferences (signature fonts, watermark templates, etc.)
  • Monthly usage counters (reset on the 1st)
  • Subscription state (for Pro users)

This data lives in your browser and syncs via your Google account if you're signed in. We never see it.

5. Technical guarantees

Our extensions use minimal manifest permissions. None of them request host_permissions for document processing — meaning Chrome itself prevents them from accessing any website content. You can verify this by checking the manifest.json of each extension.

6. Your rights

Since we store almost nothing, most data rights (GDPR, CCPA) don't apply to content. For billing data, you can:

  • Cancel your subscription through Stripe's customer portal
  • Request deletion of your Stripe customer record by emailing support@silverextensions.com

7. Changes

We'll update this page if the policy changes. We will not add tracking, data harvesting, or "optional" analytics without a major version bump and a clear opt-in screen.
